The Good Dinosaur – Review

RATING:6.4/10

The Gist of It:

So what if the asteroid that destroyed the dinosaurs missed. Pixar’s 2nd movie this year is rather unusually taking the fact so far they have only produce one each year. The story is about the relationship of dinosaur, Arlo and a boy, Spot.
Arlo a Apatosaurus  wasn’t the capable one in his family. He was always afraid of the world around him.

arlo

The basic nature of Arlo was clear from the beginning and his adventure really just ‘jump’ into it.  There wasn’t any progressive outline of what to expect which was this movie was lack of. Unlike Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur didn’t really hit the mark. The heart fill part was a little off unlike UP, or Inside Out which is must to have a box of tissue.
arlo2The Good Dinosaur surrounds at the relationship of Spot and Arlo. Arlo feels that Spot is partly responsible for Arlo’s father death. But his anger is quickly set aside, thanks to the caring of Spot. Spot a young human, is more like a dog. He howl, walks on his hand and leg, and swims like a dog.
Arlo after been washed away from his home, vow to get back home. Ofcourse with his fear always at him, slows his progress. But with Spot by his side, he moves forward – with some set back.

Verdict
It’s a good movie but not Pixar’s best. The message is well receive however the method of delivery maybe could use a little adjustment. Really entertainment movie but at certain part to draggy and repetitive which we find it boring.

Favourite Line: “If you ain’t scared, you ain’t alive.”

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

RATING:7.2/10

The Gist of It:

Finally the game that could only appease by blood ends. Despite been called as The Hunger Games, the games are actually about 24 people from 12 district combating against each other in order to win and there could be one winner except for the 74th Hunger Games where Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark won by displaying their love in which it didn’t seat well with the people at the Capitol.
President Snow didn’t like it one bit and he came up with “Quarter Quell” and the both survived again but with heavy price. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 saw how the mission was to save Peeta and how rebellion is structured and what was Katniss’s role in the rebellion. Peeta was saved but however his mind was “hijacked” by a different memory. So at times he can’t tell who are his enemy and his friends.

The part 2 of Mockingjay we see more off Katniss stepping up as a leader. She no longer the scared girl who usually needs protection. Katniss also finds out her role in the rebellion and finds out that her current position in the rebellion is temporary. As she fight the president Snow and his peacekeeper, Katniss is driven to protect her family; most importantly her sister Primrose.

Instead of just being a tool for the propaganda, she decided to be at the front line with soldier. President Coin played by Julianne Moore is ice cold that could freeze your tea on a Saturday afternoon. She might have diplomatic look but she strategy is all about her. Basically she is president Snow in the making in which Katniss has started to notice.
SP1_D142_42131_RAfter losing a bunch of friends including Finnick, Katniss and Gale manage to penetrate the lines of security towards Snow’s mansion a hovercraft flew on top of them and drop what is suppose to be “gifts”. The gifts were explosives and it exploded on civilians and among the civilians were Katniss’s sister; Primrose. At first, Katniss assumed that the hovercraft was from Snow until she spoke to him. She understood that if Snow’s dies, Coin would be the new tyrant.
“This and no other is the root from which a tyrant springs; when he first appears he is a protector – Plato

Verdict
It’s a game over after you watch this movie despite feeling a little disappointed with the ending. There will be a part when the storyline will be reviewed again like why didn’t they do that or why did do that and others but what Francis Lawrence trying to portrait is about an individuals point of view. In this case it’s Katniss Everdeen point of view. The Mockingjay is totally different then The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. In the Mockingjay, Katniss has found herself and more focused. But what bothers us a little is that how Katniss is always suppress when battling the Capitol in which drowns Jennifer character. But coming from director Francis is something expected.

Favourite Line: “Turn your weapons to Snow!”
