Aquaman release POSTPONED to December 2018

Have a seat, this will take a while.

Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that Aquaman will now be hitting theaters on December 21, 2018. The solo DCEU film headlined by Jason Momoa will mark the actor’s third time playing Arthur Curry/Aquaman after a cameo in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and his upcoming appearance in Justice League. It is understood that location scouting for Aquaman is already well-underway and filming is still expected to begin as previously-scheduled. Director James Wan will now have a couple of extra months to perfect the aquatic superhero’s solo film.

As a result of Aquaman having its release date pushed back to December, most of 2018 is open and it has been rumoured (Source: Justin Kroll, Variety Magazine) that Warner Bros. are looking to fill up that space with another superhero movie, though plans would need to be quickly confirmed as a release in 2018 would require scripts, casting and shooting to be completed by the 3rd quarter of 2017 to have enough time for post-production.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 CONFIRMED but may not involve director James Gunn

Director James Gunn aka The Godfather of Marvel Cosmos

Director James Gunn is in the final stages of post-production on the sequel that sees the entire main cast from the first return, and early screenings have already netted a perfect audience score. There has previously been little doubt that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 would happen, but now Gunn has confirmed it is coming and he’s working on figuring out his role.

“There will be a Guardians 3, that’s for sure. We’re trying to figure it out. I’m trying to figure out what I want to do really, that’s all it is. I got to figure out where I want to be, what I want to spend the next three years of my life doing. You know, I’m going to make another big movie; is it the Guardians or something else? I’m just going to figure it out over the next couple of weeks.”
– James Gunn on Guardians of the Galaxy 3

With or without Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now not only just a concept, but it appears there are real plans taking shape in the Marvel offices for the third film.

Venom is reportedly set for his SOLO movie in 2018

Please be good, please be good, please be good.

Throughout the process of Spider-Man joining his fellow Marvel heroes, however, reports surfaced that Sony had a number of potential ideas for other Spider-Man-related properties to make their way to the big screen, one of them being a Venom solo movie. Though Sony’s the partnership with Marvel Studios made many presume such a spinoff was off the table, it appears the studio is moving forward with the film after all.

A 2018 premiere date will mean three consecutive years of Spider-Man-related movies in theaters – which doesn’t include his appearance in Civil War. 2017 has Homecoming and the sequel has already been dated for 2019. Additionally, the animated Spider-Man movie starring Miles Morales also comes out in December of 2018, which means Sony would have an opportunity to wedge its Venom film in while the character is presumably hot — provided his upcoming solo film performs as well as expected.

Latest Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Trailer + Logan Contest Winners

If the new trailer is anything to go by, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 looks like it’s going to be even better than the 1st Guardians of the Galaxy and that’s a really tough thing to do, given that the 1st Guardians of the Galaxy was close to perfect. Check out the trailer below.

Some of this footage was revealed at Comic-Con, and held back until now. So what we know so far is that our favourite bunch of misfits are joined by Nebula, Yondu, and Mantis, they’ve got to save the galaxy again and finally, Peter meets his dad, Ego (Kurt Russell). Also, I AM GROOT!

On a separate note, congratulations to the winners of the Logan Contest, here’s the winners with their exclusive Logan merchandise.

MUST WATCH MOVIES (2014)

Happy New Year.

Now that you’ve heard it for the millionth time today since it’s New Year’s Eve, you’re probably getting ready for a wild night out or perhaps a cozy night in, either way you’ve still got time to breeze through this list of must watch movies. I’m secretly hoping that you haven’t watched any of these yet so that I’d get some credit for introducing them to you.

So before you get drunk, dance on the bar, lose your phone, get naked or get arrested, here’s a couple of movies in no order whatsoever that you’d probably wanna check out so you won’t feel left out when it pops up during a conversation tonight with that pretty girl.
(or guy, handsome guy, not pretty guy -wait, no.. well, let’s just go with whatever you turns you on, alright).

I love you, I fear you.

I love you, I fear you.

Gone Girl 9/10
A wicked satire of how fear works within the confines of a relationship. I found Gone Girl to be rather illogical at times but I have to admit, it kept me wondering what would happen next and not just that, it kept me WANTING to know what would happen next.

Dev's Bucket list : Fall in love with a French woman.

Dev’s Bucket list : Fall in love with a French woman.

The Hundred-Foot Journey (7/10)
If like me, you share a fondness towards French & Indian culture, food and acting quality then this is the movie for you. On the other hand, it’s 2014’s foodie movie alongside a personal favourite of mine, Jon Favreau’s Chef.

Alright, alright, alright.

Alright, alright, alright.

Interstellar (7/10)
Interstellar is full of moral ambition, breathtaking visuals and award-winning acting ability. However, it is presented in a rather pedestrian manner due to Nolan’s rightly placed lack of confidence in the intelligence of his audience. Over-hyped by the masses, above-average for the critics.

You can bring me the boy. You can bring me the boy. You can bring me the boy.

You can bring me the boy. You can bring me the boy. You can bring me the boy.

The Babadook (8/10)
The horror genre has been plagued by a multitude of generic plots and failed attempts at milking franchises (*cough* Annabelle) but The Babadook brings a fresh perspective that is usually seen in thrillers. By the end of this haunting tale about a grieving mother and her child, you’d be wondering who you should fear more, the monster in the dark or yourself?

Keep Calm and Reset.

Keep Calm and Reset.

The Edge of Tomorrow (8/10)
Exceptionally entertaining, consistently humorous and all-around great visuals that makes you feel like you’re watching a 2-hour video game, which in my book, is fantastic. Tom Cruise remains lovable even when we should feel the exact opposite for his character.

What a bunch of A-holes.

What a bunch of A-holes.

Guardians of the Galaxy (10/10)
Not much can be said about this comic adaptation that you haven’t already heard or read somewhere else besides it successfully introducing a generally unknown team of dysfunctional superheroes and turning Guardians of the Galaxy into a household name alongside the likes of Batman, Superman & the X-Men. Another new addition to the A-list acting fraternity is the charmingly hilarious Chris Pratt who makes Star-Lord his own in similar fashion to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine & Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man.
All in all, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is my pick for 2014’s Best Movie.

You know what I hate about myself? I know what people taste like. I know babies taste the best.

You know what I hate about myself? I know what people taste like. I know babies taste the best.

Snowpiercer (7/10)
Much like the Edge of Tomorrow, this too plays out like a video game but instead has a darker, grittier appeal to it that promises to be highly entertaining, fast-paced and morally-provoking.

There are still faint glimmers of civilization left in this barbaric slaughterhouse that was once known as humanity. Indeed that's what we provide in our own modest, humble, insignificant... oh, fuck it.

There are still faint glimmers of civilization left in this barbaric slaughterhouse that was once known as humanity. Indeed that’s what we provide in our own modest, humble, insignificant… oh, fuck it.

The Grand Budapest Hotel (9/10)
Wes Anderson retains his rather eccentric but highly entertaining direction style in The Grand Budapest Hotel to present the oddball adventures of the European hotel’s concierge and it’s lobby boy. Artsy backdrops and quirky characters makes The Grand Budapest Hotel a strong contender for 2014’s Movie of the Year.

The sky looks beautiful. Maybe I should fall off the roof more often.

The sky looks beautiful.
Maybe I should fall off the roof more often.

Boyhood (9/10)
A cinematic masterpiece in every sense of the word. Filmed over the course of 12 years to not just tell a coming of age story but to truly revolutionize the genre. Richard Linklater’s ability to capture natural human chemistry is as much of a gift to the cinematic art form as this movie.
(P.S: Richard Linklater’s Before Sunrise is one of the best romance movies ever made.)

EVERYTHING IS AWESOME AND I'M BATMAN!

EVERYTHING IS AWESOME AND I’M BATMAN!

The LEGO Movie (7/10)
Retaining the same qualities that made LEGO the brand powerhouse that it is, The LEGO Movie is contemporary, inventive & most importantly, fun for all ages. Backed by loads of stars, The LEGO Movie is most definitely 2014’s surprise of the year. Oh and… I’M BATMAN.

My Name is Jeff

My Name is Jeff

22 Jump Street (8/10)
From the same guys that brought you The Lego Movie, 22 Jump Street is EXACTLY the same as it’s prequel. With that fact in mind, it laughs at itself making this one of the best comedies that’s been released in quite some time. Not to mention, spawning the hilarious internet meme/ catch phrase, “My Name is Jeff”.

My motto is if you want to win the lottery you've got to make money to get a ticket.

My motto is if you want to win the lottery you’ve got to make money to get a ticket.

Nightcrawler (7/10)
If you were captivated by the brutal depths of the human psyche seen in American Psycho & Taxi Driver, you’d enjoy Jake Gyllenhaal’s disturbingly brilliant portrayal of an enthusiastic young man beginning a career in the morally abject world of crime journalism.

I feel like Birdman would make this list if it wasn’t being released in Malaysia NEXT YEAR ON JANUARY 15TH. sigh.

Bonus. Worst Movie of 2014?

Kill. Me. Now.

Kill. Me. Now.

Pre-pubescent rubbish known as The Interview. You’d probably enjoy this movie if you were smoking up but let’s be honest, we’d laugh at the word “skittles” if we were high. I love James Franco but I’m afraid even Green Hornet is better than this which is no way a compliment to that Seth Rogen disaster. Props to the advertising/marketing team though, the movie would be nothing if it weren’t for you guys. (2/10)

I’d like to point out that most of my favourites for this year aren’t on the list mainly because they’re either too artsy, too indie or French. If your interests are along those lines, hit me up in the comment section below and I’d be glad to provide you with a bunch of names to quench your creative thirst.

I hope you had a Merry Christmas and regardless of how well 2014 was for you, have a better year in 2015.

-Dev

Who is Howard the Duck

As some of us have watched Guardian of the Galaxy, at the end of the scene Howard the Duck makes an appearance at the end credit. Well who is Howard the Duck?

Howard the Duck is a character from Duckworld in the Marvel Comics universe. Created by Steve Gerber (Defenders, Doctor Fate, Omega the Unknown) and artist Val Mayerik. The concept was to get another being getting trapped in another dimension. In this case is Howard from Duckworld being trapped in our dimension.

The character had a on-off season getting cameo appearance in other Marvel’s comics such as Man-Thing, She-Hulk, Spiderman and others.

With the Guardians of the Galaxy cameo, are we expecting a movie for Howard the Duck? Well Marvel’s has not publicly denied that they would make reboot of it nor has they agreed. We can only wait and see.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Review

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is nothing but pure AWESOME!! The non stop super hero action movie features Chris Pratt as the cheeky Star Lord whose curiosity often leads to trouble which in this case leads straight to Ronan the Accuser.

Imax: Yes

Remarks: Director and writer really surprises us with his latest movie. He plays the movie extremely good while hitting all the right notes. Our kudos to him and hope the same result for his next movie.
The movie is a must not miss summer movie. If you thought Planet of the Apes was good, wait until you watch Guardians of the Galaxy. We would recommend that your watch it with a box of tissue as the movie is heart moving.
Please also note that Zoe Saldana is SEXY as I AM GROOT(hell in this movie).

Guardians of the Galaxy “12 Percent” Clip

Few more days till Raya and this got released. A clip from Guardians of the Galaxy. We love Groot the most.

Guardians of the Galaxy – “Gamora and Drax”

Check the latest trailer of Guardians of the Galaxy which features Gamora and Drax. No matter what color she is, Zoe still could make any man smile with her clothes off.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Who is who

When Peter Quill, an American pilot stole an orb – he never knew that he would end up teaming with a band of alien misfits to save the galaxy. These alien misfits consists of vengeance-addict warrior Drax the Destroyer,  loud mouth Rocket the raccoon , hot yet deadly assassin Gamora, and kind hearted Groot.
But who are there Guardians of the Galaxy anyway? Well we have all the answers.

Peter Quill

peter

Peter Quill is an interstellar adventurer who was abducted from Earth at a young age. After recovering an ancient artifact, Quill must rally an unlikely team of cosmic misfits to prevent a powerful villain from destroying the galaxy. Calls himself as Starlord.

Drax the Destroyer

drax-the-destroyer-guardians-of-the-galaxy

If you follow the comic, Drax is actually Arthur Douglas –  a real estate agent who witness his family brutally killed by the mad titan, Thanos. But however in this movie, Drax has a personal vendetta against Ronan, who killed his family. Now fueled by pure rage, Drax will stop at nothing to take his revenge on the most dangerous being in the galaxy.

Rocket the Racoon

RocketRaccoon

Rocket is a bounty hunter and mercenary whose mastery of weapons and battle tactics make him a formidable warrior, despite being a genetically altered, cybernetically enhanced, talking raccoon. Basically he is an animal that has been experimented. The comics would suggest others wise. The comics Rockets came from the planet Halfworld –  a planet which is  half-industrial, half-verdant.

Gamora the Assassins

gamora

Gamora was the sole survivor of the alien humanoid race called the Zen Whoberis. Later she was raised by the mad Titan Thanos to become the perfect weapon. As Thanos personal assassin, Gamora has earned a reputation as a formidable warrior. She previously trained under Ronan the Accuser along side Nebula, Thanos other adopted daughter.

Groot

Guardians-of-the-galaxy-groot

Groot is a humanoid plant from Taluhnia. Even with his lack of communication Groot proves to be a valuable ally and a loyal friend—not only to his fellow bounty hunter Rocket but to the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy as well.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Trailer

Oh yeah, more trailer of Guardians of the Galaxy is out. It has some promising element. What you think?

Guardians of the Galaxy – Trailer

The new trailer looks even better than the previous trailers that came out. It has more ‘ingredient’ but it that said so could it be that Guardians of the Galaxys would rival the Avengers or is this movie would just be a stepping base for the next Avengers?
